Its been more than a year...
So I think its time for another review...
Getter ready for...
REVOLTECH #089 Getter Go
Lets get started!
Here are some box scans, as always. (and by always I mean this is only the second time I've done this.)
The box also came with a slip cover going around it.
It shows some revoltech stuff including stuff you can use revochips for (which I don't think new revoltechs even come with anymore...((this revoltech is from 2010)))
Here's the main figure and included with it are...
1 x Extra head
1 x Gun
5 x Bullets
1x Giant Ass Sword
2 x Extra pairs of hands
1 x Pair of wrist gun.. things..
1 x Wrist bullet holder
1 x Wrist Blade
1 x Stand
1 x Effect piece
1 x Revochip
and 1 x Revo Container
Here's the main figure in all its badassness...
...and here's some closeups of the two extra faces.
(the one on the right is my favorite)
Getter Go is FUUUUULL of revoltech joints, this being a revoltech and all.
The only joints that aren't revoltech are the neck, head, knee pads, back leg parts used for articulation, and hand joints. Those are just small hinge-peg type joints.
The revolver joints give him some pretty decent articulation. The arms and legs can basically spin all around because of how the joint is placed. The elbow joint lets his arm bend at a 90 degree angle, a little bit more if you try to force and extend it, but its mostly blocked by a piece that covers the joint.
The hinge joint in the hands let them hinge back and forth, They tend to flop some times, but only if they're holding something, otherwise they're pretty sturdy and wont budge unless you move 'em.
It also lets each half spin all the way around if you wanted to do that for some reason.
The joint on his head gives him some pretty good articulation, but I wish it was a revoltech joint like the rest. It's still better than Getter 1 Renewal's ball joint head, which makes his head really floppy sometimes, so this is fine.
Getter Go comes with two rockets/jet pack and they're attached by a double revolver joint that lets them flip and make it look like they're about to be launched.
The bottom of the rockets can also be spun all the way around if you wanna do that too.
The knee joint lets him bend the usual amount, but would definitely bend farther if it was using a double jointed revolver joint.
Though...there is a piece on the back that lets it bend farther as well, but only by a little bit.
The foot can bend a good amount too. The silver heel detail is a nice touch.
There's also a hole at the bottom where you can put the effect piece he comes with, the bottom part of the stand he comes with, or just plug in the revolver joint part of the top half of the stand.
The knee pads just use a peg hinge joint but they still bend pretty far and are a nice addition.
Getter Go comes with the usual closed fist hands. You can make him punch things and stuff.
You can even fit one of the bullets in between the fingers! Its a pretty good lil addition and I like it a lot.
The other pair of hands are just the usual holding hands. They're used to hold the gun, the sword, and other things if you can fit them.
Now....
Onto the accessories.
Getter Go comes with various wrist attachments, but most of the pictures I took don't have them because they tend to fall out from the right arm. The only one that doesn't fall out easily is the wrist attachment that holds the bullets...but it doesn't fit into the left arm.
These are the main wrist attachments. The black cannon part is also removable.
The wrist bullet holder is pretty nice and can actually hold the bullets! Although it can only hold 4 of the 5. The last bullet is used in the gun which ill show later.
Now this one is really cool.
It a big ol' blade that can flip front and back.
Of course, it isn't the biggest blade that comes with this guy...
That would be this.
It's such a big sword.
Like,
HOLY SHIT
ITS SO BIG...
It's definitely my favorite accessory and its so comically large.
The other main accessory Getter Go comes with is this big ol' gun.
You can even open it up to show a hole and...
...here's where that extra bullet comes in. The hole in the gun is a perfect fit for the bullets and you can even close it without worrying of it falling out!
If you flip the gun over the bullet falls out really easily though.
The last few accessories are the revochip, revo container, stand, and effect piece.
The stand that comes with Getter Go is the usual revoltech stand and honestly... it isn't that good. I'd rather use one of the other stands I have. It does come with an extra stand piece that can hold Getter Go at the waist but I don't really use it that much.
The effect piece is just a recolor of the usual ones that come with revoltechs. It's ok and I use it a lot as you can see in most of these photos.
The revochip is just a ten point revochip but... Kaiyodo ended the promotion that used these so they're not worth anything anymore.
The revo container is actually pretty nice even if I cant fit the bigger accessories.
It can also stack with other revo containers so that's pretty cool too.
Now, before I end this review I'll show Getter Go compared in size to some other toys.
Here he is next to another revoltech, Revoltech 105 Getter 1 Renewal Ver.
And here he is next to SRC Gurren Lagann and SRC Mazinger Z.
As you can see, hes kind of on the small size but hes still a really good figure!
I think this is a pretty good time to end the review so its time for some final thoughts.
I know a lot of people don't like revoltechs but I still like 'em. They're pretty affordable most of the time and even make figures of characters that have either a low amount or even no articulated figures of them.
The only gripes I could have with this is how the paint job looks kind of like candy in promotional pictures. It looks fine in real life though! So I guess its not really a a bad thing...
The other thing I have a problem with are some of the joints not being revolver joints but they're still fine and its not that big of a problem.
Sometimes the revolver joints make Getter Go a little hard to pose but if you find a good pose it'll usually stay in that pose so you don't have to worry about the joints flopping.
Since this is a revoltech you can also mix 'n match with other revoltechs, so if you have a bunch that's a plus.
You can create your own Original Character Do Not Steal!
If you're a fan of Getter Robo in general I would definitely recommend this figure.
I don't even think there are any other articulated Getter Go toys so you're kinda stuck with it...
So in the end... I give Revoltech Getter Go...

Getter Go comes with the usual closed fist hands. You can make him punch things and stuff.
The first extra pair of hands are open hands, kinda grasping. They're pretty nice and you can use 'em to show Getter Go grabbing something, or attacking something since they look kind of like claws too.
The other pair of hands are just the usual holding hands. They're used to hold the gun, the sword, and other things if you can fit them.

It doesn't show up that well on camera |
